About
This painting was inspired by the portrait of King Cheoljong of the Joseon Dynasty. A human statue created by combining a monster ball from the Japanese cartoon Pokémon and an apple that opened the smartphone era. It satirized modern people who, like Pokemon in a Poké Ball, are trapped in their cell phones and cannot live without their smartphones.
조선시대 철종의 어진으로부터 영감을 얻어 작업하게 된 그림. 일본 만화 포켓몬스터의 몬스터볼과 스마트폰 시대를 연 애플(사과)을 조합해 만든 인간상. 몬스터볼 속의 포켓몬처럼 휴대폰 속에 갇혀 스마트폰 없인 생활이 불가능해진 현대인들을 풍자.
