With the development of new technologies, a new asset called cryptocurrency has emerged. Not wanting to fall behind the trend, people started purchasing Bitcoin and Ethereum. A group of artists also appeared at the same time, hoping to get ahead of the new era by minting hundreds of NFTs. An illustration of the logo of OpenSea, a global NFT market, and the brand logo of MetaMask, a virtual currency wallet. To me, Open Sea seemed to be both an open sea and a ‘pirate ship on the hot sea’ where writers and collectors’ desire for money was boiling over.
새로운 기술의 개발로 암호화폐라는 신종 자산이 등장했다. 너도 나도 흐름에 뒤쳐질세라 비트코인과 이더리움을 구입하기 시작했다. 수 백 개의 NFT도 제작하며 새 시대를 앞서가 보겠다는 작가 집단도 동시에 등장했다. 글로벌 NFT마켓인 오픈씨(OpenSea)의 로고와 가상화폐지갑인 메타마스크(MetaMask)의 브랜드 로고를 가져와 그린 그림. 내게 오픈씨는 열린 바다인 동시에 작가들과 컬렉터들의 돈에 대한 욕망이 끓어오르는 ‘뜨거운 바다 위의 해적선’으로 보였다.
